STAFF

The team is led by Dr Corine Ngufor and consists of a combination of staff from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK, and the Centre de Recherche Entomologique de Cotonou (CREC). We have a total of 65 staff consisting of 3 Senior Medical Entomologist, 16 Research Assistant, 2 Research Technicians, 5 Field Technicians, 8 Insectary Technicians, 5 Drivers, 5 Security Guards, 6 Cleaners, 2 Administrative and Financial staff, 2 Quality Assurance Manager, 3 Data Manager, 1 IT Technician, 1 Archivist and 1 environmentalist .



Dr. Corine Ngufor

Facility Manager CREC/LSHTM

Dr. Corine Ngufor is an Associate Professor of medical entomology at LSHTM and the Facility Manager and Lead Scientist of the CREC/LSHTM Collaborative Research Programme. She has several years of field experience in mosquito biology and vector control. She started working at LSHTM in 2011 supervising and coordinating several WHOPES Phase 1 and 2 vector control studies across sub-saharan Africa (Tanzania, Cote D'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Benin).

Dr. Renaud GOVOETCHAN

PhD Medical Entomology

Laboratory Supervisor & Senior Research Assistant /LSHTM

Dr. Renaud GOVOETCHAN is a medical entomologist with experience in malaria vector control studies in communities. He worked with PMI in Burundi and UNDP/Global Fund in Djibouti prior to joining the Facility in 2018. He is the supervisor for the Bioassay Laboratory and a Senior Research Assistant of the facility. He is also a study director and coordinates implementation of IVCC-Sponsored Studies at the Facility.

Boris is a medical entomologist with much experience in vector control studies in laboratory and semi-field trials. He is the deputy supervisor for the Bioassay Laboratory. He is also study director of some projects.

Josias is a Research Assistant with long-term expertise in Medical Entomology. He joined the Facility in 2013. He currently supervises implementation of projects, oversees chemical product reception and storage, coordinates laboratory activities and trains junior laboratory staff.He also serves a Study Director for some studies evaluating the durability of the bioefficacy of next generation ITNs.

Augustin has several years of experience in Medical Entomology. He joined the facility in 2011 as research assistant, and later served as the Field Site Supervisor from 2013-2020 before. As a Field Project Manager, he coordinates field projects involving community evaluations of vector control products.

As the Field Site supervisor, he oversees field site activities and field personnel, and reports directly to the Facility Manager. Director and Administrative Counterpart - CREC

Dr. Gil PADONOU is a medical entomologist with over several year of experience in vector control. He participates in the teaching of the BSc and MSc programmes in Applied Entomology, Hydrobiology, Animal Ecology and Biology of Invertabrate Nutrition at University of Abomey-Calavi. He is currently lecturer at the University of Abomey-Calavi and researcher at the Entomological Research Center of Cotonou (Ministry of Health) where he works since 2003 on research of new tools to fight against malaria and arboviruses vectors. He is Member of Benin's NMCP Technical Expert Group on Malaria Vector Control and Insecticide Resistance Management. Since 2008 to 2011, he is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities of the Entomological Component of the President Malaria Initiative Program in the Oueme department in Benin.
