New Nets Project STAFF

Dr Manfred Accrombessi MD, PhD in Epidemiology,
Research Fellow in Epidemiology, Trial manager of New Nets project

Manfred Accrombessi is a medical epidemiologist with more than 10 years of experience in clinical trials and epidemiological studies in sub-Saharan Africa. After obtaining his medical doctorate, he has continued his studies with a Master degree and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology at Pierre and Marie Curie University and Sorbornes University, respectively. He's currently research fellow in Epidemiology at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and fills the position of the trial manager on the cluster-randomized clinical trial "New Nets project".

Dr Arthur SOVI PhD in Entomology,
Research Fellow in Entomology, Entomology lead of New Nets project

Arthur is a medical entomologist with 9 years of professional experience in phase 3 vector control studies. He held the lead entomologist position for the US PMI VectorLink project in Mali before joining the facility in 2019. He supports the delivery of the entomology components of the randomised controlled Trial on the most promising new generation of long lasting insecticidal nets.

SEMAKO EDOUARD DANGBENON BSc in Biostatistics, Biostatistician,
Data manager of the NEW NETS project

DANGBENON SEMAKO EDOUARD is statistician and computer scientist, with more than 4 years of experience in project and data management. He is currently the lead of data management on the New-Nets project sponsoring by the CREC/LSHTM collaborative research program and funding by UNITAID.

Professor Martin AKOGBETO
Medical Entomology
Local PI of the UNITAID Randomised control trial

Professor Akogbeto is a medical entomologist with over 32 years of experience in vector control. He is the Director of CREC and also a Professor at the Zoology and genetic department of the “Faculté des Sciences et Techniques (FAST)” at Cotonou in Benin. He is also the President of the African Network on Vector Resistance (ANVR) and is the head of the laboratory of vector and parasitic ecology at the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) at Cotonou in Benin.
